STRIKE 2, you're OUT!!!

The day dated 20^th December 2012 started and ended with mom and dad watching star news,aaj tak, samay, etc and me as usual playing the latest 9-ball pool online where instead of numbers, the balls are marked as our planets and the yellow stripe ball is the earth. Its 21:00 hours, parents wish me goodnight (or should it be goodbye), mom has a tear rolling down and they now retire to bed with strict instructions to me to sleep before 12 AM!!!They don’t know, it’s already 21^st in Australian sub-continent, and nothing has happened. I am supposed to sleep in their room on the extra bed tonight so that we all are together when “IT” happens.

 I somewhere still believe life will be back to normal soon…Australia-India test series, EPL back after the Christmas break, Australian Open, new movie lined up for release – Judwa2, Oh My God, Singh Sahab, Die Hard 5, The Last Stand, Hansel and Gretel and many more. Its half past nine and I too prefer my cozy bed and quilt than to sit in front of my PC and read only 3 letters everywhere E N D.

Its 2AM and I get a nature’s call. I wake up, both my parents are snoring so everything is normal. I peek out of the window; all buildings are still standing, no rainfall, no strong winds, no cracks on the ground. Everything is normal. I quickly get back to my bed after a visit to the loo. 21^st  December morning and its just another day till the idiot box starts speaking. Mom in excitement switches on the TV and then the big news…NASA is not able to track anything in outer space. All connections showing an error!!! Almost confirmed that Nibiru or Planet X will strike Earth. That looks as the only possible reason why NASA has lost all connection, in fact NASA is clueless…everyone is playing the guessing game but certainly something is about to happen. 

The next theory doing immediate rounds in media is that the END will be when clock strikes 12 in the US and D-Day starts there. We all knew if US sneezes, the world catches cold, so now when US will start (the day), the world will end (taking Uncle Sam with it)!!! Its 9:00 AM here in New Delhi and I quickly calculate that in another 30 minutes or so it will be 21^st December in US. The same thing is being flashed on television…30 MINUTES of this life are left, the life which is best when in school till standard III, then becomes painful till we pass high school and then the graduation is the best phase. But again, getting a job and working without having a personal life brings back the pain. ALL IS GOING TO END in 29 minutes and 45 seconds. (In the 15 seconds gone by I defined my life…) 

And then when 29 minutes and 40 seconds are left, the window panes start to rattle and I can hear my heart beat, thump thump…GOSH it is happening. We all just rush out and I can hear a familiar music in the background. We look outside to see how many building have fallen and to our utmost surprise, none. It is the Residents Welfare Association members who have put up the music piece “Kal Ho Na Ho Instrumental” on a loud speaker. So loud that the window panes were shaking. And it wasn’t my heart going thump thump, it was from the loud speaker. They had a good motive, to pacify everyone. This is God's style of saying STRIKE 1 and we survive.(Whosoever has any knowledge of Baseball will understand).

Anyways, all the locality residents have gathered outside in the park and the instrumental music piece goes on. Everyone is anxi.. WWOOOOOOSHHHHHHH! A strong wind or tornado or cyclone, don’t know what it was, it just flung us all in the air. 


This is STRIKE 2 you're out - God has his own rules, he doesn't wait for Strike 3.


Is GOD actually playing Baseball or is it a practice session for him to prepare for the World Baseball Classic scheduled for March 2013!!! Tomorrow the match result will be out...
